In order to reduce the risk of a breakdown during our journey we made the decision to invest heavily in state-of-the-art gear.
This is a summary of the most critical items we will be taking with us.Bikes: Santos Travelmasters with a steel frame, Rohloff 14 speed hub, 26” wheels, Magura hydraulic brakes, Tubus carriers and Schwalbe tyres.Ortlieb panniers front and back, and Ortlieb rucksacks on top of the back carrier.Tent: Hilleberg Nammatj 2 GT.
Sleeping bags: Custom made by Tatteljee, down filled.
Sleeping mats: Thermarest.
Clothing: first layers Ice Breaker Merino wool, outer layers The North Face and Patagonia.
Stove: MSR Dragonfly
Furthermore we have the possibility to charge our AA penlite batteries, camera battery,
i-pod and cell phone batteries using a handy charger connected to our bike dynamo.
